Root-knot nematodes (RKNs) can severely impact tomato cultivation. Combining chemical control with agricultural and biological measures is important for controlling RKN diseases. In greenhouse experiments performed from 2018–2019, ILeVO, Kuaixian, Saoxianbao, Zhuanxian and Lanligensha controlled 92.3%, 89.1%, 51.1%, 35.9% and 43.6% of RKN diseases, respectively, when applied individually. When these nematicides were combined with Bacillus methylotrophicus (YB-04), 100.0%, 87.2%, 59.0%, 56.9% and 71.5% of RKN diseases were controlled, respectively. In a field experiment from 2018–2020, the corresponding efficacies were 92.7%, 86.5%, 72.2%, 57.6% and 47.7% when the nematicides were applied individually and 95.2%, 91.3%, 41.0%, 71.8% and 56.7% when combined with YB-04. Significantly greater soil nematode juvenile inhibition rates (82.4% and 72.4%, respectively) were obtained when ILeVO and Lanligensha were combined with YB-04 compared to the other treatments (P<0.05). The effects of the chemicals on tomato growth and yield were determined. The most significant growth-promoting effect (P<0.05) was obtained with ILeVO combined with YB-04. The plant height, fresh weight, root length, root weight, and stem base width increased by 36.0%, 76.7%, 85.1%, 77.3%, and 18.8%, respectively, in the greenhouse experiments and 53.3%, 92.2%, 45.0%, 73.5%, and 57.1%, respectively, in the field experiment compared with the control. The most significant effects on the average total fruit weight per plant (P<0.05) were achieved when ILeVO and Kuaixian were combined with YB-04; the average weights were 1579.5 g and 1367.6 g per plant, which were 83.0% and 58.4% greater, respectively, than that of the control. The nematode control effect and average total fruit weight per plant increased when the nematicides were combined with YB-04.
