摘要
The Introductory Interprofessional Education for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPE-4-IPCP) online module aimed to provide a consistent approach to IPE and IPCP for health professions staff and students across multiple health organizations. In phase one, validation was completed by an expert panel (CVI: < 0.8) and focus groups, including health professions staff and faculty (n = 9). Focus group findings highlighted the module's application in educational and clinical training contexts. Themes included: content, learner experience, implementation, and benefits for patients/clients. Phase two assessed the impact of the module regarding self-reported confidence and knowledge in IPE, IPCP, and attitudes towards teamwork and willingness to engage in IPCP. Findings indicated premodule and postmodule changes for staff (n = 12) and students (n = 68); however, health professions students reported significant increases in confidence and attitudes towards IPE (p < 0.001) and willingness to engage in IPCP measured by the Interprofessional Socialization Valuing scale (Z = -5.026, p < 0.001). The IPE-4-IPCP module offered health staff and students a shared, mutual understanding of IPE, IPCP, interprofessional thinking, and behaviors in clinical and educational contexts.
