Low-Profile Filtering Magneto-Flectric Dipole Antenna

This paper presents a novel magneto-electric (ME) dipole filtering antenna characterized by high out-of-band suppression and low profile. L-shaped open stubs and cross-shaped parasitic patches are designed for controllable radiation nulls at high frequency and low frequency, respectively, to achieve high out-of-band suppression. Simulation results show that the antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 49.4% (3.2 similar to 5.3 GHz). In addition, the antenna achieves an average gain of 9 dBi across the band, with low frequency stopband suppression of more than 20 dB and high frequency stopband suppression of more than 15 dB. in addition, the antenna exhibits stable and symmetrical radiation patterns across the operating bandwidth, coupled with a desirable filtering response.
