center dot Motivational interviewing is an effective way of communicating with children and families to support behavior change related to a wide variety of presenting concerns. center dot Motivational interviewing aligns with the core values of pediatric primary care, including partnership with families, health promotion, and cultural responsiveness. center dot Pediatric clinicians can use motivational interviewing to enhance their assessment, management, and triaging of behavioral and mental health concerns.
