摘要
Animation has echoed the importance that mental health has recently acquired in society. Knowing how to identify one's own emotions and interpret them in order to know how to develop skills, make decisions and, in short, to know oneself as an individual, is one of the main challenges facing the contemporary subject. This article examines, from a gender perspective, the treatment of emotional intelligence in South Korean fiction through the series Yumi's Cells (2021-2022), which combines real images and animation. A textual analysis reveals that the representation of animated characters serves as a pedagogical tool for the audience to learn to detect everyday emotions, particularly in the con-text of South Korean society, which lacks certain psychological resources, as the extroversion of emotions is considered a social taboo.
