摘要:
Tetrataenium shrirangii C.Rekha, Gosavi, Manudev & Dalavi, a new species of Apiaceae is described here from the lateritic plateau of Chaukul Village in Sindhudurg District in Maharashtra. The new species is closely similar to T. birmanicum (Kurz) Manden., a species found in Assam (northeast India) to Thailand, by its apically inflexed petals, persistent calyx, and style, but is distinguished from the latter by the presence of narrow, oblong-ovate or ovate-lanceolate to elliptic or round leaflets, 2-6 ovate involucre bracts with 1-3 lobed or rounded apex, 3-5 elliptic-oblong involucel, and other carpological characters such as ovoid-ellipsoid fruits with narrowly winged lateral ribs, 4-6 unequal commissural vittae and with slightly concave commissural face. A detailed description, diagnostic characters, photo plates and illustrations are provided for easy identification of this species.
