摘要
The present work demonstrates the effect of surface treatment of ground granulated blast furnace slag (BFS) by a non-ionic surfactant on the performance of polypropylene (PP)-BFS composite. BFS-PP composites have been prepared by injection molding technique by varying the weight percentage of Triton X-100 from 0.5% to 5%. Improvement in tensile elongation and modulus has been observed for all the treated composites. The interfacial bonding between BFS and PP matrix has been analyzed by performing microscopic analysis. The promising results will encourage recycling and utilization of BFS which eventually reduces the cost of PP composites.
