摘要
This introduction to the symposium on political polarization and constitutional courts identifies the problem of a vicious circle between a polarized political system trying to encourage judicial battles and a politicized judicial system that invites more polarization, and asks the question of what explains some courts' resilience (or the lack of it) in the face of the threat of a polarized party system. The introduction also briefly explains each symposium article's contribution, situating its main conclusions in the context of the larger collective project.
