摘要
Power over Fiber (PoF) performance is reviewed for its integration in centralized 5G optical fronthauling with space division deployments (SDM) through multicore fibers (MCF). Latest PoF results and impact on 5G data traffic quality are presented for different testbeds. Novel solutions for monitoring the PoF signal are addressed. Passive Optical Network (PON) integration and convergence in this scenario is also discussed.
