摘要
This article draws on data from a large quantitative study of the experiences of student-athletes who are open about their minoritized sexual and/or gender identities to their teammates. Data accounts for the experiences of openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender high school (n = 278), and/or collegiate (n = 475) athletes playing in the United States or Canada. Results show that transgender student-athletes (n = 11) report similar experiences to gay, lesbian, and bisexual athletes. Overall findings suggest acceptance and inclusion in sport, challenging the narrative that sport is solely a space of exclusion and hostility for sexual and gender minorities.
