THERMALIZATION OF BEAMS OF HIGHLY ENERGETIC CHARGED-PARTICLES IN CHANNELING IN CRYSTALS

摘要
It is shown that in channelling of protons and heavy ions thermalization of the particle beams occurs, i.e. at certain penetration depths in the crystal a state of stationary equilibrium in the plane of the phase variables sets in. As a result, at certain penetration depths the protons and ions are focussed. © 1979.
