Elevated BP and HTN are prevalent and often undertreated in the United States. BP above goal is associated with significantly increased morbidity and mortality. However, effective treatment with evidence-based interventions reduces sequelae and improves quality of life. Clinicians should treat elevated BP and HTN based on evidence, clinical judgment, and shared decision-making to achieve optimal patient- centered outcomes.
