GAMIFICATION AND AUGMENTED REALITY AS PEDAGOGICAL TOOLS FOR TEACHING: A RESEARCH AGENDA

摘要
The lack of engagement and motivation of many students in carrying out the proposed academic activities is one of the main challenges faced by teachers and other education professionals. In addition, the need for teaching methodologies which consider the demands of a generation influenced by practicality, interaction with technological equipment, flexibility, and adaptability to change makes it possible to use digital tools and technologies as allies to traditional teaching methods. In this context, the aforementioned alliance justifies the association proposed in the article between gamification and augmented reality. Therefore, this article aims at presenting a research agenda from 2012 to 2022 of the studies available on the CAPES Journal Portal, in relation to the potential of the association between gamification and Augmented Reality as pedagogical tools for teaching. The analysis of the results, which were obtained by using a qualitative approach, suggests diversity in both the content covered and in the applications used, as well as it highlights the practical potential of the association between these tools and the significant opportunities for teaching which can be generated by them. The number of papers found (six articles) constitutes a gap and it may not only provide an opportunity for reflection, but it may also stimulate research to enrich teaching with the proposed association. It is hoped that this work will provide considerations on the subject in order to motivate researchers seeking to invest in the dialog between the two tools.
