摘要
In this paper, a novel high- performance off-body antenna design is presented for wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. The antenna is composed of three layers: an AMC substrate, a planar monopole, and an FSS superstrate. The integrated design was placed around an arm of human body model with optimal separation distance. Simulation results reveal that the antenna exhibits an impedance bandwidth of 3.13% (5.74-5.92 GHz), a peak gain of 10.73 dBi and total efficiency of 88.64% at 5.8 GHz ISM band. These characteristics show that the suggested antenna is a good candidate for off-body wearable applications.
