摘要
What are the considerations of Mexican citizens when trusting the presidency? Political trust has been studied based on parameters such as the absence of corruption and the presence of civil liberties. This article proposes an analysis of political trust based not only on the relationship between citizens and their institutions but also on the interrelations of citizen trust. Likewise, the model is complemented by social conditions such as trust and particularized trust. This research seeks to explain the variation in political trust in the four post-democratic transition presidents in Mexico (2000-2022). A Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QcA) was carried out to specify which conditions or configurations explain the allocation of political trust. Among the main findings, we can see that none of the variables emerged as a sufficient or necessary condition, the political dimension was more relevant for allocating trust, and, finally, there was a marked contextual impact at the beginning of the six-year terms.
