摘要
This paper explains and evaluates the accuracy in the use of the terms << voluntad >> (`free will') and << voluntario >> (`voluntary actions') in the third book of Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics translated by Charles of Aragon from Leonardo Bruni's Latin translation. In order to clarify possible misunderstandings and to guide us in the genealogy of these terms, the Latin and Greek concepts from which they derive will be analysed, as well as a far-reaching hypostasis that arises in the history of European thought, the hypostasis of free will.
