摘要
Gliomas are a type of brain tumor. Gliomas are graded between grades 2 and 4 by pathologists, with higher grades being more aggressive tumors. Some doctors recommend additional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation right after surgery, while others may not suggest any more immediate treatment for grade 3 gliomas. The authors of this study wanted to see which approach is better. To do this they reviewed the medical records of 106 patients with grade 3 gliomas some of whom received chemotherapy and/or radiation immediately after surgery and others who did not receive any immediate treatment after surgery. Their results showed that there was no difference in how long patients lived, regardless of the treatment they received immediately after surgery.
