摘要
This essay examines the recently expanded Owens Thomas House and Slave Quarters (OTHSQ) in Savannah, Georgia, for the purpose of analyzing its goal of seeking narrative balance. This essay begins with countermemory as a guiding framework, and as such, applies the four principles of countermemory as a way of analyzing the visual-material and narrative rhetoric at OTHSQ. Ultimately, this essay invites a social justice-informed analysis of heritage tourism sites through the concept of counterbalance.
