摘要
This article presents a comprehensive approach to evaluating social vulnerability within the framework of disaster risk management for a sector of Alfonso L & oacute;pez I Etapa, neighborhood, located in the northeast of Cali, Colombia, in the face of pluvial and fluvial flood threats. A detailed analysis of field-measured variables was conducted to construct a social vulnerability index composed of different social dimensions. Based on the evaluated vulnerability and existing data on pluvial and fluvial threats in the study area, the risk from these events was determined. The results were tabulated and mapped to understand the disaggregated and total distribution of the different evaluated dimensions, as well as the total social vulnerability and risk from these threats. Based on the territorial dynamics and obtained results, recommendations and actions are offered to reduce both the risk and social vulnerability in the community, highlighting the importance of addressing these aspects jointly to achieve effective management of potential floods and improve community resilience through territorial awareness of social risk perception.
