Musical concepts through the experimentation in the Early Childhood Education classroom

The Early Childhood Education stage covers a few key years for the cognitive, motor, linguistic and emotional development of children. Music, as a form of language and artistic expression, can contribute and accompany this process through the sound manipulation, discovery and experimentation. In addition to promoting knowledge of the environment and oneself, our proposal focuses on finding out how, through the contact with music and sounds, the development of language and the progressive acquisition of a vocabulary that integrates related basic concepts, can be encouraged with the sound experience. Throughout the presentation we will see what this basic musical vocabulary is, and how we can approach its understanding from the first years of life, which can enrich the musical experience, make it more conscious and favor the understanding of more abstract and complex concepts in the future.
