摘要
In an ever-changing world of technology, the meaning of Big Data is continuously changing; and with these changes come new emerging technologies to address the changes. One such a technology is NoSQL, which addresses the storage of unstructured data; opening up interesting possibilities when compared to what is offered by the very structured format of the relational database environment. This paper looks at a descriptive case study where a business which relied on conventional databases, utilized NoSQL to reveal hidden data which may provide new insight into their business operations. An artifact developed by the researcher is key in sourcing and accessing data that are available but hidden due to the limitations of the conventional database system. Such innovationmay direct future business decisions, and potentially open new markets. This paper aims to determine whether this is possible. A process to address similar situations is recommended.
