Valerie Raoul, who worked closely with Sneja Gunew at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, provides background on Sneja's career in Canada and the role she played in developing Women's Studies and Multicultural Studies at UBC. After retiring Sneja was the instigator of a writing group composed of feminist academics, and her memoir pieces for that group have been collected into a memoir entitled MEmoire: Textures of a Life, available in November 2024. The Introduction, explaining how the group functioned, is reproduced here. For information on how to obtain a copy, contact raoulvalerie@gmail.com or Isabel.lowe2012@gmail.com
