Terahertz imaging of pharmaceutical materials with a widely frequency-tunable nonlinear quantum cascade laser

摘要
We demonstrate imaging using a widely frequency-tunable terahertz semiconductor source. In this system, frequency of terahertz wave was tuned using an extra cavity diffraction grating. We obtained terahertz images of pharmaceutical materials at different frequencies using the frequency-tunable source. By acquiring images at a frequency corresponding to the absorption peak of the pharmaceutical material, we detected noticeable differences in the concentration of the pharmaceutical material.
