L-Tyrosine and L-DOPA: Promising scaffolds for the synthesis of biologically active compounds

摘要
This review reports the synthetic strategies as well as the physicochemical and biological properties of L-tyrosine and 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl-L-alanine (L-DOPA) esters, amides, and imine derivatives including dopamines and tyrosol derivatives from 2010 to 2024. The variations in head group and hydrophilic chain were found to influence the physicochemical properties such as critical micelle concentration (CMC), lipophilicity, and surface tension. The biological properties of the previously reported L-tyrosine and L-DOPA derivatives such as radical scavenging, antibacterial, antiproliferative, and anti-Parkinson activities are also reported.
