摘要
An off-grid solar-hydro hybrid system for rural electrification in Ranau, Sabah, Malaysia is the subject of this research paper, which presents a feasibility study on the implementation of such a system. In order to address the challenges that are associated with limited access to reliable electricity in remote areas, the study intends to propose a microgrid system that is self-sustaining and can be adapted to meet the energy requirements of the community that is being targeted. An evaluation of the hybrid system's technical and economic feasibility is presented in this paper. This evaluation is accomplished through a comprehensive examination of site selection, geo-statistical data, load assessment, and system design. PV solar panels, inverters, batteries, and a hydro power plant are some of the components that are included in the study. Additionally, the study incorporates solar and hydroelectrical resources. The paper evaluates the performance of the system by utilizing the HOMER Pro software. Additionally, it offers insights into the operational characteristics of the system as well as its economic viability.
