This case report reviews a patient who presented to the hospital with drug-induced liver injury secondary to kratom use. Although drug-induced liver injury due to kratom ingestion is relatively rare, the incidence in the United States is climbing rapidly as the recreational use of kratom increases. The patient is a 42-year-old woman who presented with malaise, abdominal pain, and jaundice. The patient exercised regularly and started kratom supplements to decrease fatigue. After 6 months of kratom use, the patient discontinued supplementation. One week later, she presented to the emergency department with jaundice and acute liver injury. (c) 2025 Elsevier Inc.
