Optimizing luminescence performance of Er3+doped tellurite glass through the integration of MoO3 and Ce3+

摘要
Network modifier MoO3 and sensitizer CeO2 were incorporated into Era+-doped tellurite glass with composition of TeO2-ZnO-Na2O, which was synthesized by the melt-quenching technique. A series of experimental measurements and theoretical calculations were conducted to explore how the embedding of MoO3 and CeO2 influences the luminescent properties of Er3+. The improvement of local environment around Era+induced by the appearance of MoO3 related structural units, the increase in multiphonon relaxation rate due to the rise of host phonon energy, and the cross relaxation between Er3+:4I11/2_*4I13/2 and Ce3+:2F5/2_*2F7/2, all together increase the fluorescence intensity of Er3+ by 79.2 % in 1.53 mu m band, and broaden the spectrum from 70 nm to 80 nm under 980 nm laser excitation. A systematic analysis about the enhancement of luminescent performance in 1.53 mu m band caused by the changes in local structure and relaxation rate was performed in this paper.
