On the Near-field Reactive Helicity and Far-field Directivity of Circularly Polarized Antennas

摘要
In this paper, spatial distribution of reactive helicity around in the antenna near-field region is critically examined. Using MoM based full-wave simulation involving crossed dipole antennas backed by PEC (perfect electric conductor) plate and cavity, it is demonstrated that far-field directivity for CP (circularly polarized) antennas bear inherent correlation with reactive helicity in their near-field apertures. Such analysis of reactive helicity will enable engineers synthesize and apply complex magnetoelectric fields for communication as well as sensing applications.
