摘要
Aralia elata (A. elata), a perennial woody plant of the Araliaceae family, is extensive in Northeast China. Esteemed for both its medicinal and edible qualities in the Changbai Mountain region, its primary components include polysaccharides, saponins, and flavonoids. A. elata displays numerous pharmacological effects, such as cardiovascular protection, anti-tumour, anti-fatigue, and hypoglycaemic properties. Through the extraction, purification and pharmacological evaluation of A. elata, it is expected to discover more biologically active components and provide scientific basis for their development as a clinical candidate drugs. This review consolidates recent research on extraction, separation, purification, and the biological efficacy of A. elata polysaccharides and saponins, which will provide the oretical basis and technical support for the further development and utilisation of A. elata resources and related by-products, and providing a foundation for the application of A. elata in functional foods and medicines.
