摘要
The primary purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the current dynamics and trajectory of research on the research-teaching nexus. We have conducted a quantitative scientometric review of 1,650 journal articles published between 2000 and 2023. Our findings indicate a rapid increase in the number of articles published in this field, with significant contributions led by the United States, England, and Australia. Notably, a majority of the leading institutions in this domain are based in Australia. However, our analysis of collaboration networks revealed a relatively loose structure, particularly within author collaboration networks. The analysis has uncovered four prevailing topics: undergraduate research experience, active learning techniques, perceptions of the research-teaching nexus, and teacher education research. Our findings suggest that undergraduate research continues as a robust research frontier, inquiry-based learning is diminishing as a research focus, and professional development has recently emerged as a new frontier in this scholarly dialogue.
