摘要
In a context of digital citizenship development, this article examines whether young people (18-24 years old) show statistically significant differences in their level of information, news consumption, and trust in sources. A sample of 27,433 Spanish individuals was used to conduct nine models of binary logistic regressions controlled by a set of relevant variables. Multivariate results show that young people significantly express lower levels of information, consume less information through traditional media (television, press, and radio), and more through social networks. Additionally, they trust the press more than other age groups. No direct relationships were found between age group and trust in social networks. The findings suggest the importance of promoting digital citizenship literacy mechanisms that help develop individuals' critical thinking.
