Enhancing the Universality of Drug Supply in Primary Health Care Through a Central Pharmacy of the County Medical Community

To address the issues of incomplete drug variety in primary health care institutions, disjointed medication use between different levels of health care institutions, untimely drug procurement and distribution, and weak pharmaceutical service capabilities, 23 county medical community central pharmacies were selected in China's Shandong province in 2022 for pilot programs. The establishment of these pharmacies aims to improve the drug supply level of primary health care institutions, promote the sharing and optimized allocation of medical resources, and stimulate the enhancement of primary health care services. Based on an in-depth investigation, the authors summarize the experiences of the county medical community central pharmacy in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao, Shandong Province, providing a reference for promoting high-quality development of county medical community central pharmacies in various regions.
