Green HRM techniques may be used to activate staff in environmentally conscious initiatives and projects, which is important for corporate sustainability. However, the significance of sustainable HRM strategies in Indian Banking remains relatively unexplored. Drawing from the conservation of resources principle, this research investigates how the implementation of green human resource (GHR) practices fosters a greater level of Organizational Citizenship Behavior for the Environment (OCBE) within organizations. The research also rigorously explored how green crafting mediates the connection between GHRMPs and OCBE, highlighting its pivotal role in enhancing organizational outcomes. We consider three dimensions of green crafting (increasing structural green resources, increasing social green resources, and increasing challenging green demands) explained by the job demands-resources model. We gathered valuable insights from 180 dedicated employees working in both public and private sector banks across Delhi, India. The proposed hypothesis is tested through PLS-SEM approach using Smart-PLS4. The results clearly indicate that green HRM practices have a substantial effect on OCBE. Furthermore, GHRMPs effectively enhance the three dimensions of green crafting, demonstrating a positive link between green crafting and OCBE. However, research indicates that enhancing both structural and social green resources significantly mediates the connection between green HRM practices and OCBE. Additionally, increasing challenging green demands partially mediate Green HR practices and OCBE. Finally, this article culminates in a thoughtful exploration of both the theoretical and practical implications, addresses the limitations of the study, and provides valuable insights for future researchers, paving the way for further advancement in the field.
