摘要
This paper introduces a new software tool for reliability analysis, risk assessment and risk management in modern power systems which is developed by Aalborg University. Existing reliability assessment tools are more suitable for conventional generation units. However, modern power systems are extremally dominated by renewable generations, while they are prone to various reliability issues. This is mainly due to intermittent and uncertain prime energy sources, and higher number of components prone to frequent and non-constant failure rates. The RelyPES tool is developed to address these issues, and it is customized for renewable-dominated power systems. This tool analyses the power system reliability at generation, transmission, and distribution levels, that is necessary for power system design, planning, maintenance, and operation.
