摘要
Going beyond Eurocentric approaches to clinical supervision and recasting white notions of cultural capital, we introduce an alternative theoretical grounding of strengths-based supervision built on Community Cultural Wealth theory. We provide a context of Eurocentrism and deficit-centric approaches to clinical supervision in counseling and its consequences for BIPOC supervisees. We build on existing frameworks rooted in critical race theory and social justice education and describe a form of strengths-based supervision that integrates elements of critical race theory, and social justice. We also provide a discussion of the applications of this approach for supervisors working with BIPOC supervisees.
