摘要
The present article discusses the way in which the works of some French authors, especially Jacques Derrida and Claude Levi-Strauss, were interpreted by the critic and writer Silviano Santiago in the 1970s. Taking into account both the critic's texts and the context in which these ideas were presented, the effort of this work is to understand the peculiarities of the reception of these works and the reading strategies employed by Santiago, a critic in active development abroad (in France and the United States of America). This was a moment when he would 'import' this series of new approaches to integrate them into the horizon of comparative literature in Brazil.
