摘要
Amidst concerns about representative democracy, alternative decision-making models gain traction. While extensive research focuses on citizen participation, technocracy as a governance model remains underexplored. This paper addresses a knowledge gap in understanding citizens' expert preferences and the impact of individual factors on support during COVID-19. Surveying 241 Flemish citizens, this paper explores support for different experts and how socio-demographic variables and political orientation affect it. Results reveal nuanced dynamics: medical experts are favoured over economic and social counterparts, with modest influence from individual differences. This research enhances the understanding of public attitudes toward expert involvement, particularly citizens' preferences during crises.
