摘要
Metal objects existing on coils of a wireless power transfer (WPT) system will deteriorate WPT performance or induce safety issues. A dual-band WPT is proposed to detect the metal objects. The lower band is mainly used for power transfer and metal object detection. The higher band can be used to detect the coil misalignment, which is commonly occurring during charging. The simulated and experimental results show that the discrimination between metal object existence and coil misalignment can be achieved simultaneously in this WPT system.
