摘要
The purpose of this study is to define objective criteria based on a review of research conducted in the last five years (2020-2024) on the relationship between language learning strategies and personal variables such as self-efficacy and motivation. In terms of methodology, the steps recommended by Meca (2010) were followed. The studies selected for this meta-analysis were obtained from various databases, including Wos, Scopus and Dialnet, and met predefined criteria based on the research objectives. A total of 21 articles met the established criteria after a comprehensive analysis of 1249 research studies. The results obtained, evaluated through Fisher's r-a-z effect, point to a positive association between motivation and self-efficacy as cognitive learning strategies and academic performance. Therefore, the implementation of training programmes in higher education settings is suggested, as well as the need for further research that delves into other related socioemotional factors.
