The demand for air conditioning systems and their blowers, particularly in data centers, is increasing. Therefore, development of advanced domestic technology is essential for maintaining competitiveness in the market. Electronically commutated fans are typically employed for air-conditioning owing to their efficiency. This study investigated the analysis and design methods of electric motors aimed at improving their manufacturing reliability. Particularly, the impact of the assembly method for the permanent magnet component of the rotor, which is prone to performance degradation, was compared and analyzed to validate its suitability. Furthermore, the impact of key design factors such as permanent magnet spacing, number of divisions, and rotor skew, on electric motor characteristics was analyzed. Based on the findings, a design method that integrates these factors was proposed.
