摘要
A millimeter wave exhibits a high propagation loss and small ability to wrap around shielding objects compared with a low frequency band. Therefore, a receiving antenna placed in a non-line-of-sight (NLOS) coverage area degrades the wireless communication quality. To solve this problem, a metasurface reflector that can enhance a reflecting electromagnetic (EM) wave in the desired NLOS direction was proposed. However, in a typical metasurface reflector, the area behind the reflector becomes a new NLOS location. Therefore, we developed a transparent metasurface with a cross-mesh structure that can control the reflection phase of EM waves. We experimentally clarified the influence of the structural parameters of a transparent metasurface with a cross-mesh structure on the EM properties and its effectiveness.
