摘要：

Precocious sexual development is the appearance of pubertal signs before age 8 in girls or 9 years in boys and is classified into incomplete or complete variants. The aim of this review helping the pediatrician guidance in their recognition. Gonadotropin-dependent Central Precocious Puberty is caused by premature reactivation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Its early recognition allows us to avoid the consequences of the condition with timely installation of treatment. For its detection, pediatricians are recommended to include in health checks an evaluation of pubertal development according to Tanner stages and evaluate growth in the height/age graph according to national references or standards. In case of clinical suspicion, the evaluation may include bone age and add gynecological ultrasound in girls. The Pediatric Endocrinologist will complete the evaluation based on hormonal studies for differential diagnosis. After diagnosis, according to the condition, follow-up or specific therapy will be recommended.
