摘要
Objective: This study aims to propose guidelines for the quality management of Beach Tennis (BT) sports facilities. Methodology/Approach: Field research was carried out based on ten on-site visits, employing a qualitative approach and systematic observation. Data collection was based on an observation guide. To support the observations, unstructured interviews were conducted with BT instructors, amateur and professional players, and arena owners. Data were analyzed using the method of interpretation of meanings (Gomes, 2016). Originality/Relevance: The study addresses a significant theoretical gap by focusing on specific quality management for BT sports facilities, a rapidly growing sport in Brazil. The relevance and originality of this article lies in its pioneering nature in establishing parameters that aid in the quality management of BT sports facilities, contributing to the consolidation and expansion of this sport. Main Results: Based on on-site visits, 48 guidelines were proposed to improve the experience of clients/athletes and support the strategic management of BT sport facilities in nine dimensions: (1) Physical infrastructure, (2) Material and Technological Resources, (3) Pricing, Plans, and Payment Conditions, (4) Support Facilities, (5) Human Resources, (6) Hygiene and Safety, (7) Operations, (8) Feedback and Continuous Improvement and (9) Event and Competition Organization. Theoretical/Methodological Contributions: The study defines specific criteria for quality management in BT sports facilities, addressing a gap in the literature on the management of emerging sports. Methodologically, the research proposes variables that can guide the development of quality assessment tools for sports facilities. Management Contributions: Managerially, the guidelines can support the planning and construction of new sports facilities, as well as aid decision-making processes for BT managers, contributing to the sport's growth and the sustainability of the enterprises.
