This article examines the trajectory of Father Francisco Eloi de Oliveira, former chaplain of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB), with a focus on his role as a "memory agent" in the post-World War II period in S & atilde;o Tiago, Minas Gerais. The research investigates the festivities organized by the priest during the 1980s and 1990s, emphasizing his leadership in the construction of landmarks such as the "Deus e P & aacute;tria" Sanctuary, which merges religious and patriotic elements. In addition to highlightingthe preservationofFEB's memory, the study explores how religiosity and patriotism intertwine in Father Francisco's actions, promoting a distinctive narrative that celebrates both the civic and spiritual aspects of Brazil's participation in the war.
