Determination of Fragrance Allergens in Dishwashing Detergents in Korea Using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS)

The labeling of fragrance allergens in dishwashing detergents was reviewed and their contents were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Among the 113 dishwashing detergent products, 57 were labeled as fragrance allergens. Seven fragrance allergens were identified among 23 fragrance allergens. The linearity (R-2>0.998), accuracy (89.87-104.27%), precision (0.17-5.4%), limit of detection, and limit of quantitation values were determined. Seven fragrance allergens were identified in 57 dishwashing detergents. Our results show that the labeling of fragrance allergens in dishwashing detergents complied with established standards, providing information on the frequency and content of fragrance allergens in dishwashing detergents.
