Reflections on the feminist methodology in law research

The irruption of feminist epistemologies at the end of the 20th century have had an impact on the way in which scientific knowledge is constructed when this perspective is assumed. Criticism of objectivity and neutrality in science have influenced on the way some criteria are approached in the research process and methodology, mainly in the recognition of new research problems: those affecting women; new purposes: to seek social changes to modify the disadvantaged situation in which women find themselves; and the new role of the researcher: with a subjective and emotional involvement in the knowledge production process and a commitment, respect and empowerment towards those who participate in the research. This paper provides reflections on how such contributions interact in law research.
