Art of living and telling stories: experiences of teachers in Basic Education

摘要
This paper aims to analyze the perceptions of storyteller teachers about reading mediation through the art of storytelling. It is a qualitative piece of research, carried out through episodic interviews, applied with five teachers who work in the Municipal Teaching Network of Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The main theoretical contributions for data systematization were Sisto (2012), Neitzel; Carvalho (2016) and Zumthor (2020). Data processing was based on a descriptive approach in light of the chosen theoretical scope. As a result, it is indicated that storyteller teachers tell stories because they believe in the power of this mediation for readers' agency; they invest in the storytelling through the fruitive that understands the literary text as an aesthetic and artistic object to be appreciated; they develop storytelling as a cultural mediation loaded with affections to provoke children and adolescents; they learned the art of storytelling in the teaching practice and when working in libraries; they need opportunities to expand their training as storytellers.
