This manuscript describes a first-in-class anti-CRIPSR with a likely novel mechanism of action. The discovery of a type III-A antiCRISPR protein is exciting, and the method by which the authors discovered it is elegant a. Although there are some questions about the exact mechanism by which this Acr works, the mechanistic studies that were already in the paper provide considerable insight for future studies.
