摘要
Universal accessibility is essential for fostering autonomy and social inclusion; however, its design and implementation pose significant challenges. These difficulties arise from the interaction between individuals' physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities and the physical, communicational, and symbolic characteristics of goods, services, and environments. This article provides general guidelines to improve accessibility, based on a systematic literature review addressing the following research questions: What are the most common themes associated with initiatives promoting universal accessibility? What types of strategies are implemented to enhance accessibility? The review analyzes 148 articles published between 2013 and 2023 in Scielo, Scopus, and Web of Science. The findings highlight initiatives that promote the universal design of products, services, and environments, alongside specific guidelines for improving accessibility in pedestrian transit, public buildings, transportation, housing, and digital and technological resources. Additionally, the study delves into key aspects of accessibility in physical, communicational, social, and tourism environments.
