摘要
Although the idea of translation psychology dates from the 1970s, it is still a rather neglected branch of translation studies. The purpose of this study is to describe the relations of translators' implicit theories of translation to goal orientation, self-efficacy and self-regulation. The sample consisted of 125 adults (of at least 18 years old) who had either worked as a translator or had not worked as a translator, but who had received, or were currently receiving, formal education in the field of translation studies. Data were gathered through an online questionnaire which contained scales that were developed for measuring the constructs and adapted to the sample, along with questions about demographics. Significant correlations were discovered between implicit theories and goal orientation as well as implicit theories and self-regulation. The results are discussed in the light of previous findings.
